While it might be considered cheesy to have this book in your collection (a tad too Austin Powers perhaps), it is none the less a classic. Not many sex manuals can boast eons long relevance. Just like in any sport, if you're going to try this at home, be sure to stretch before hand.

A classic. Duh. But amazingly contemporary. I'll be the first to admit that before I read this, I never knew it was set in New England in the 1950's. I kinda figured since it was written by a Russian, it was like some Chekov tale from the turn-of-the century set in Eastern Europe. Boy was I wrong. Further it's written in a journal/diary format. Hey, it's not as if it's on the standard high-school book lists (wouldn't that be ironic). It's creepy, sexy, and great.

Those bemoaning the low state modern of sexual morals, should just shut up, because they don't know what the hell they're talking about. We're practically celibate angels compared to the debaucheries past that the Marquis de Sade tells of. While a supposed work of fiction, it was based on his own personal experiences as one of the social elite of his day. I guess his exploits were tame compared to the Romans.
